James Morales is an educator, national conference presenter, and developer of Professor HVAC®, advancing practical approaches to instructor-centered artificial intelligence in career and technical education. His work explores how AI can extend student learning beyond the classroom while preserving the instructor's responsibility for curriculum, instructional direction, and student success.

Educators establish learning objectives, instructional methods, and assessments.
AI provides personalized support while educators remain responsible for instruction.
The framework is informed by actual classroom use and the development of Professor HVAC®.
Conversational AI can extend technical learning into labs, independent study, and workplace preparation.
The Instructor-Centered AI Framework
Instructor-Centered AI is an approach to educational technology in which instructors retain control over curriculum, learning outcomes, instructional methods, and assessments. Artificial intelligence provides additional support through personalized guidance, conversational learning, and instructor-reviewed educational resources.
Instructors may draw on existing publisher materials, open educational resources, original instructional content, and instructor-reviewed AI-generated materials.
